East Cobb

HISTORY, BEAUTY, AND TOP RATED SCHOOLS

Together, East Cobb and the city of Marietta make up a popular, thriving area in the heart of Cobb County. Located Northeast of the Atlanta metro and close to many points of interest, East Cobb and Marietta offer numerous shopping, dining and leisure options and are close to the I-75 and I-285 interstates. Though East Cobb is not incorporated, its proximity to Marietta and abundance of beautiful neighborhoods sustain its appeal. The combined population living in East Cobb and Marietta is more than 200,000 happy residents. Marietta is truly a history buff’s paradise, thanks to the number of museums and historic points of interest. The Gone with the Wind Museum, paying homage to one of the best-loved stories of the South, as well as the Marietta/Cobb Museum of Art, the Marietta Fire Museum and the Old Zion Church Heritage Museum, are all worth a visit and are part of Marietta’s lively downtown, known for “six museums, one square.” Marietta offers plenty of greenspace, including the popular Elizabeth Porter Park with its summer “sprayground,” Gnatt Park and Glover Park. Or, take the short drive to East Cobb and enjoy Mabry Park, with more than 26 acres of natural beauty, historic Hyde Farm, the Wright Environmental Education Center, plus many others. Marietta and East Cobb are a quick enough drive to downtown Atlanta to satisfy any shopper, but for an even closer opportunity to enjoy retail therapy, try the Avenue at East Cobb, featuring popular retailers such as Banana Republic and Sephora. Visit the Marietta Square or Kennesaw Farmers Markets for local goodies, crafts and fresh produce, and make plans to attend one of many seasonal events in this area — the Glover Park Concert Series, Marietta StreetFest and Art in the Park are just a few fun festivals locals enjoy throughout the year. Regarding architectural styles, you’re sure to find your personal favorite in either East Cobb or Marietta. Everything from prairie to Greek Revival to craftsman exists in the many neighborhoods and subdivisions, so take your time while looking and soak in the beauty of these homes. While East Cobb and Marietta are known for being upscale zip codes, there are still plenty of affordable housing options as more people decide to make these communities home.
